

Referred to in the Ayurvedic writings 4000 years ago, when Indian women would massage each others head in order to delay the on set of greying. This massage would also strengthen the hair. Massaging the head would start when a baby was born, but stopping with males at adulthood. Male Barbers would continue the massaging of adult males whilst having a hair cut.
Indian Head massage was brought to the UK by Narendra Mehta who was disappointed that massage was not used when having his hair cut. He returned to India to learn the skills and also incorporated the shoulders and arms.

You will sit upright in a chair for this totally non-invasive treatment and you do not have to remove any clothing. The therapist will work routines around your head, face, neck, shoulder ,upper back and upper arms. The massage can be adapted if to suit your needs. As well as feeling relaxed, clients experience a deep sense of tranquility and balance as the treatment also works on the body's energy centres or 'chakras.'
The treatment should last around 40 minutes but the benefits will last for days. Although the massage focuses on the upper parts of the body, the massage will have an impact on the whole body.
